RSU’s Stratton Taylor Library Debuts Creative Showcase

Rogers State University Stratton Taylor Library displayed a unique variety of showcase exhibits from students, faculty, and staff. The inaugural creative showcase featured music, art, poetry, handcrafted artwork and more from diverse backgrounds and influences. Twenty-three submissions were on display from April 23-May 7.

“Our hope is that those who explored the showcase learned something from the experience of others, that they found something they connect with to discover they’re not alone in their feelings, and that they came away enriched for having broadened their understanding of this world,” Kaitlin Crotty, interim library director, said.

The Library Activities Committee worked collaboratively with the Student Government Association’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Committee to highlight Celebrate Diversity month.

“This was a perfect opportunity to promote the broad range of talent and diversity present throughout the RSU community while providing an opportunity for others to learn and come together in celebration of diversity,” Crotty said. “There is so much hidden talent. It was a great way to recognize our brave artists and encourage them to continue speaking boldly through art.”

The Stratton Taylor Library provides informational resources and expertise that support the intellectual and cultural development of RSU students, faculty, staff and community members.

The library’s collection holds more than 77,000 books and thousands of DVDs, videos and CDs. It also has access to more than 40,000 electronic books and 66 electronic databases.
