A.A. in Elementary Education
The Associate in Arts in Elementary Education degree is intended to prepare students for a career teaching kindergarten through all elementary school grade levels. The program is designed to provide the student with the first two years of general requirements to transfer to a four-year program.
Under the CU-RSU collaborative elementary education degree program, students can transition seamlessly into Cameron’s portion of the program, completing all requirements for a bachelor degree from Cameron in two years on the RSU campus in Claremore. Students should meet with the program coordinator for advisement.
Department Mission: The mission of the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice is to assist students in developing knowledge and understanding of social, legal and psychological issues and to operate in today’s legal, social, and culturally diverse community.
Degree Program Mission: The Elementary Education Program is intended to prepare students for a career in teaching kindergarten and all elementary school grade levels. The program is designed to provide the student with the first two years of general requirements to transfer to a four-year program.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will successfully complete general education course work/credit hours required for admission to Oklahoma four-year institutions offering Bachelor of Education degrees.
- Students will demonstrate competency in General Education requirements.
- Students will indicate satisfaction with their education and education preparation for a teacher education program.
