Rogers State University respects the right of all members of the academic community to explore and to discuss questions of interest, to express opinions publicly and privately, and to join together to demonstrate their concerns by orderly means. It is the policy of the University to protect the right of voluntary assembly, to make its facilities available for peaceful assembly, to welcome guest speakers, and to protect the exercise of these rights from disruption or interference.

In accordance with Oklahoma Senate Bill 361 (passed by the Oklahoma Legislature and signed into law April 29, 2019), each public institution of higher education shall report to the Governor and the Legislature as well as publicly post on its website a report that details barriers to, or incidents of disruption of, free expression on campus.

This report shall include incidents that attempt to block or prohibit speakers and investigations into students or student organizations for their speech and shall include the nature of each barrier or incident, as well as what disciplinary action, if any, was taken against members of the campus community determined to be responsible for those specific barriers or incidents involving students.

During the 2023 calendar year, no complaints or reports were filed pertaining to barriers to free expression at Rogers State University on the Claremore, Pryor, or Bartlesville campuses.

If you have concerns or comments about campus opportunities for free expression, then please contact the Student Conduct and Title IX Coordinator.
