Launch Your Career in Chemical Engineering
The Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering prepares students for employment in the private STEM sector, in research and product development in Oklahoma’s traditional petrochemical industry, and emerging industries in biomedical engineering, nanotechnology and fuel cells. The program is housed within RSU’s School of Arts and Sciences in the Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Classes are held on the Claremore campus.
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering Curriculum and Course Highlights
The chemical engineering program at Rogers State University focuses on the integration of interdisciplinary engineering and chemical sciences and engineering design. The curriculum is designed to prepare chemical engineering graduates for further education and personal development through their entire professional career. We strive to accomplish these goals by providing a rigorous and demanding curriculum incorporating lectures, discussions, laboratory and project development experiences in basic sciences, mathematics, engineering sciences, and design as well as liberal and global studies.
RSU chemical engineering graduates will learn to solve complex engineering problems; apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare; communicate effectively with a range of audiences; recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments; function effectively on a team; develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions; and acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
Why choose RSU for your chemical engineering degree?
As a chemical engineering major at RSU, you’ll experience all the benefits of studying at a large university with the personal attention of a smaller college. Here’s what sets RSU apart among other schools:
- Faculty who know you by name.
Experience our student-first approach in your chemical engineering courses. Most of our courses have fewer than 25 students, with some labs limited to 15–20 students. Our faculty have experience in both the classroom and field environments, which allows you to receive a well-rounded education and diverse career prep.
- Real-world experience.
Learn in a B.S. in chemical engineering program that offers weekly opportunities for research and field experience.
- Investment in your success.
From helping you avoid heavy student debt to approachable faculty mentors, RSU is committed to your success as a chemical engineering major and a Hillcat.
