Bridge to Traditional BSN Entry

The Bridge to Traditional BSN Entry is flexible for individuals who are working as licensed practical nurses or nationally registered paramedics and want to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The nursing curriculum is 59 credit hours, with 20 hours earned through advanced standing credit and 39 by enrollment to be completed within the program. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for RNs (NCLEX-RN). 

Admission Requirements

Applications for Bridge entry are accepted June 1 – October 1. The Bridge cohort begins classes in January.

Applicants must have the following:

  1. Be accepted to Rogers State University (Apply for RSU Admission).
  2. A reading score of one of the following. The reading score requirement will be waived for applicants with existing bachelor’s degrees.
    • ACT Reading 19
    • RSU Reading Accuplacer 75
    • RSU Next-Gen 250
    • Nelson Deny 13
    • TEAS Score of “proficient”
  3. All academic deficiencies must be cleared, including Computer Science. Computer Science may be achieved through Advanced Standing or successfully passing CS 1113 Microcomputer Applications with a grade of “C” or better.
  4. English proficiency requirement of non-native English speakers must have a TOEFL score of 85 or higher on the internet-based (TOEFL iBT) with a sub-score of 26 for speaking.
  5. GPA of a 2.5 in all required prerequisite coursework, and no less than a grade of “C” in any prerequisite nursing course.

Bridge applicants are required to take standardized placement test and meet a predetermined cut-score. Once application is received, you will be contacted to schedule testing.

If accepted, LPN/Paramedic (NREMT) students enter the program at year three, second semester and follow the same curricular path as the Traditional BSN students for the remainder of the program. See the Bridge Roadmap (pdf).
