RSU to Hold May 1 Big Brother/Big Sister Informational Session For RSU Employees, Students

The Rogers State University Hillcub Adoption Program is partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rogers County for the BBBS school/site-based program. This program gives an opportunity for Bigs to be matched with a Little in a local elementary school to help make a difference in a child’s life. One hour per week, during the school year, the Big engages in various activities with the Little, such as eating lunch, helping with homework, throwing a ball or just spending an hour sharing stories.

The mission of this program is to provide opportunities for RSU faculty, staff and students to become a mentor to Claremont Elementary students during their school day.

“I am excited that RSU can partner with BBBS to provide opportunity for RSU faculty, staff and students to work with and inspire students at our partner school, Claremont Elementary School,” said Marisa Littlefield, Director of Alumni, who serves as the Coordinator of the Hillcub Adoption Program. “BBBS is such an important agency in our community and I am thrilled that our Hillcub Program can help support them and their school based program.”

If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about the school/site-based program please plan to attend a one-hour information session on Wednesday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. in Centennial Center Conference Room A. Free pizza will be served to meeting attendees.

RSVP by calling Marisa Littlefield at 918-343-6816 or email at [email protected].
