RSU Awards Possibilities Scholarships to High School Art Students

Two area high school students have been awarded Possibilities Scholarships to enroll in the fine arts program this fall at Rogers State University.

Kelli Boyd, a senior at Collinsville High School, and Hunter Nelson, a senior at Catoosa High School, have been awarded the Possibilities Scholarships.

The scholarships were awarded in conjunction with the Art on the Hill Festival, held each spring on the RSU campus in Claremore. This year’s festival will be held on April 29-30.

The scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, were provided by Leonard and Kathy Szopinski of Broken Arrow, who founded the Possibilities Scholarship Program at RSU.

“We believe it is important to advance arts education and support young artists in northeast Oklahoma,” said Leonard Szopinski, who is director of the physical plant at RSU.
