Rogers State University will welcome homeschool students and their parents to campus next month to learn about college life and all the university has to offer.

Homeschool Day is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the RSU campus in Claremore. Homeschool Day is open to all high school students grades 9 to 12 who are homeschooled.

“Homeschool Day is a preview day of Rogers State University for homeschool students and their families, similar to other preview open campus events we host, such as Junior Day, Senior Day, Enrollment Day, etc.,” said RSU Campus Visits and Events Coordinator Dulcinea Riley. “Students and their families can learn about the admissions process, how it differs slightly for them as homeschool students since they don’t have high school transcripts, but mostly, to tour the campus, see the library, see residential life, meet with financial aid, etc.

“It’s just a great opportunity for them to get an idea about what college life is like, specifically at RSU,” she said.

During the event, RSU admissions team members will provide valuable resources and information to the students, as well as help them learn about college readiness, financial planning, transcript creation, academic success and more.

“Although the admissions process may differ slightly for homeschool students, we want to provide them with important information and give them the opportunity to visit a university – an opportunity they might not have as much as their traditional high school student counterparts,” Riley said.

The cost to attend Homeschool Day is free, but Riley suggests pre-registration.
