High school seniors and their parents are invited to attend RSU Senior Day for the opportunity to preview the educational, social and personal opportunities available on campus as students at RSU.

Slated for Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Claremore campus, RSU Senior Day gives high school seniors the chance to engage with current RSU students and faculty, learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities, tour on-campus housing and dining, as well as participate in a student organization preview session.

Students and their guests also will get the chance to explore majors and degree options, in addition to internship and graduate school opportunities, as they experience life as an RSU Hillcat.

“Senior Day is a great way for seniors to preview what the campus community at RSU is like,” said Emily Duncan, campus events coordinator. “Not only will the students and their families learn the next steps in their education, but they’ll get to see the departments, meet the professors, meet current students, see the organizations – they’ll really get a good feel about how RSU can benefit them.”

During RSU Senior Day, students also get a free RSU t-shirt, a free lunch and have the chance to win a portion of $10,000 in scholarship money to Rogers State University.

Scholarship winners will be announced during lunch and must be present to win.

RSU offers master’s, bachelor’s and associate degree programs in Oklahoma’s top 10-fastest growing industries, such as healthcare, business administration, applied technology, psychology and sociology, communications, humanities, and criminal justice, as well as emerging fields such as Esports, game development and environmental conservation.

In September, U.S News and World Report placed Rogers State University among the top regional colleges in the western United States due to the university’s quality academics, affordability and accessibility. RSU was ranked No. 14 in the Regional Colleges category and ranked No. 6 among the Top Public Schools in the west – a grouping consisting of 15 states, including Oklahoma, Texas and California.

RSU also was recognized at No. 4 as a Best Value School, based on the school’s academic quality and net cost of attendance for an out-of-state student who received the average level of need-based financial aid. RSU’s affordability, coupled with the high quality of education received by its students, makes it an outstanding choice for first-time freshmen and transfer students alike.

RSU Senior Day kicks off at 10 a.m. with check-in at 9:30 a.m. in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center rotunda. Activities will continue until noon when lunch will be served, and after which, campus tours will be given at 1 p.m.

“Senior Day is a great opportunity for seniors and their parents to learn more about RSU and to learn more about student life and what it’s like in college,” said Jordan Brown, interim director of admissions. “So, they’ll get to learn about what kind of opportunities they’ll have in college, whether that’s through organizations, learning, different departments, how to make relationships with students and faculty, and why those relationships are important.”

Preferred registration deadline to participate in Senior Day is Friday, Nov. 4. Capacity is limited.
