Nearly two dozen prospective future educators from across the region gathered on the Rogers State University campus in Claremore Wednesday, March 6, to participate in a preview day geared to inform and inspire high school students interested in pursuing a degree in elementary or secondary education.

Future Educators Day was an event hosted jointly by Rogers State University and Cameron University, allowing attendees access to helpful and educational resources as they interacted with current students and faculty members, observed an education class, toured the Claremore campus, and more.

The Bachelor of Science in elementary education and Bachelor of Arts in social studies education are offered by Cameron University on the RSU campus. Students enter RSU, earn an Associate of Arts in either elementary education or secondary education during their first four semesters, and then continue for their final four semesters as Cameron students to earn their bachelor’s degree, but do so all on the RSU campus in Claremore. Both Rogers State University and Cameron University are regional institutions under the governance of the OU Board of Regents.
