The 3rd annual RSU Bioethics Forum will focus on the ethics around decision making for incapacitated, terminally ill patients without an advanced medical directive.
Dr. Jeffrey Alderman, Director of the University of Tulsa’s Institute for Healthcare Delivery Services and Associate Professor of Community Medicine, will speak at the forum at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1 in Loshbaugh Hall, Room 112. The event is free and open to the public.
Alderman is a medical doctor who practices in the areas of hospice and palliative medicine. He has presented nationally to advocate a new paradigm of patient care, especially for terminally ill patients. He is a graduate from the George Washington University School of Medicine.
RSU’s Department of Biology annually presents its Bioethics Forum as outreach for its Bioethics class to raise public awareness on current bioethical issues. Student presentations, in selected topics of bioethics, will follow the keynote presentation.
