Sixth Annual RSU Scholarship Auction ‘Hollywood on the Hill’ April 30

“Hollywood on the Hill” is the theme of the sixth annual Rogers State University Foundation Scholarship Auction and Dinner, which will feature a festive evening of food and music, raffle with a chance to win cash or a trip to Hollywood, and the opportunity to bid on a variety of unique live and silent auction items, ranging in value from five to several thousand dollars.

The auction, which is open to the public, will be held during the evening of Friday, April 30, in the Ballroom of the Centennial Center on the RSU campus in Claremore.

Premiere sponsor of the event is Pelco Structural.

Doors will open and silent auction bidding will begin at 6 p.m., dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and the live auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. The raffle drawing will be held during the live auction. Red carpet attire is optional.

All proceeds from the event, sponsored by the RSU Foundation, will provide scholarships for RSU students. The cost to attend the auction is $30 per person or $300 for a table of eight. Event sponsorships are still available, beginning at $500.

“The scholarship auction has become one of the premier social and philanthropic events in the Claremore area,” said Tonni Harrald, RSU director of development and organizer of the event. “But more importantly, we will be raising much-needed scholarship funds for deserving students.”

Raffle tickets on a chance to win $5,000 cash or a trip to Hollywood, including a tour of all the major attractions, may be purchased from any Hollywood on the Hill committee member, at the RSU Foundation or from members of the RSU Honors Program.

This year’s live auction items include a “A Night of Southern Hospitality,” featuring the cuisine of Mississippi featuring guest chef Leo George McGee in the home of Bobby and Julia Helen Latham; a “State Dinner” for six in the RSU President’s Residence; and “An Amish Experience,” including dinner for 10, accompanied by a buggy ride, provided by Leon and Jill Hershberger and Scott and Rosalie Walton. The live auction also will feature a deer hunt for two on the Robson Ranch, provided by Frank and Ludmila Robson.

Silent auction items include dinners at area restaurants, vacation packages, jewelry, certificates for services, a variety of art, RSU athletic items and more.

Auction items may still be contributed to the RSU Foundation for the auction. Those interested in making tax-deductible contributions to the auction should contact the RSU Foundation.
