RSU-TV to Air Commencement Ceremonies May 17, 23

RSU-TV will air twice this month a tape-delayed broadcast of Rogers State University’s recent commencement ceremonies.

The taped broadcast of the university’s commencement ceremonies is scheduled to air at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, and 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 23. RSU-TV broadcasts on UHF channel 35, Claremore and Tulsa cable channel 19, and more than 70 cable systems in northeastern Oklahoma and southern Kansas.

The televised program is approximately 90 minutes long and will feature both of RSU’s commencement ceremonies, which included one each for bachelor’s and associate’s degree candidates.

The May 6 commencement marked the first year RSU held two ceremonies, a move which was necessitated by the university’s growing enrollment. The university conferred degrees upon more than 400 students, including more than 185 bachelor’s degree candidates, from its three campuses and RSU Online. This marked the fifth year RSU has graduated bachelor degree candidates since being accredited as a four-year university in August 2000.

The ceremonies were taped as a service to area residents and family members who were unable to attend.

As the only full-powered public television station licensed to a university in Oklahoma, RSU-TV provides educational, cultural and general interest programming to an audience of 1.2 million viewers in northeastern Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.
