RSU will host three welcoming events June 4 and 5 for Dr. Don Raleigh and First Lady Angela Raleigh.

Rogers State University is planning three public events in June to welcome its new president, Dr. Don Raleigh and First Lady Angela Raleigh. He begins his tenure as RSU’s third President June 1.

“I look forward to reconnecting with many friends and acquaintances, and introducing myself to the many alumni, friends and supporters of Rogers State University,” Raleigh said. “It is my goal to have as many conversations as possible to guide me in refining the strategic vision for RSU.”

The first event will be in Claremore Wednesday, June 4, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., in the ballroom of the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center on the RSU campus. Raleigh will deliver remarks at 5 p.m.

There will be two welcome events Thursday, June 5.

The first will be in Bartlesville in conjunction with the RSU Foundation’s Annual Scholarship Breakfast. The breakfast will be held at The Center beginning at 8 a.m.

Raleigh will be in Pryor later that day for a reception from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Pryor Campus of RSU. He will speak at 4 p.m.

Raleigh currently serves as the dean of the School of Education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, a position he has held since June 2023. Prior to that he served as senior associate dean for academic operations at the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Before joining the administration at Liberty University, Raleigh retired as superintendent of Pryor Public Schools after serving 13 years in that role. He began his career in education in 1988 and has served in almost every capacity as a teacher, coach, and administrator in public schools.

He holds a B.S. in natural sciences from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, with an M.S. in curriculum and instruction and an Ed.D. in school administration, both from Oklahoma State University.
