RSU Students Invited to Free Film Screenings at Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival

Will rogers motion picture festivalRogers State University students are invited to attend three days of free independent movie screenings during the Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival in Claremore.

Slated from Wednesday, Nov. 1, through Friday, Nov. 3, the festival is an annual film festival that celebrates motion pictures from various genres submitted by independent filmmakers, with screenings of the top-rated entries over three days.

Submissions are entered in categories that include Made in Oklahoma (Feature), Made in Oklahoma (Short), American Indian/First Nation/Indigenous (Feature), American Indian/First Nation/Indigenous (Short), Documentary (Feature), Documentary (Short), Comedy (Feature), Comedy (Short), Animation (Short), Narrative (Short), College Student (Short), Ages 15-18 (Short), and Ages 14 and Under (Short).

RSU TV Public Television and RSU Radio 91.3 are among the event sponsors.

The film festival is part of the Will Rogers Days festivities, culminating Saturday, Nov. 4, with the Will Rogers Days Parade at 3 p.m., Will Rogers Birthday Party from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum, and the Dog-Iron Awards Ceremony at 7 p.m., also at the museum, preceded by a reception at 6 p.m. The Dog-Irons will be live and virtual and special guests will announce the film festival winners.
