RSU Public Television’s 2010 Springfest kicks off with Comedy on April 1st

A number of theme nights will be presented during RSU Public TV’s spring membership drive in April. Viewers from across northeast Oklahoma are encouraged to engage and invest in programming and services delivered by RSU Public TV.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, Representative Tad Jones, R-Claremore, Cindy Gentry and Dan Schiedel lead off the evening with a “Red Green Special,” followed by Victor Borge the classical comedian finishing the night with Jackie Gleason.

“We are planning various themed evenings for our diverse audience and members in the hope that they will enjoy and be moved to call in during this membership drive,” said Stephanie Baumgarte, RSU Public TV membership manager.

Locally produced and nationally distributed “Woodturning Workshop” will premiere its last episode in season four. Tim Yoder, the producer and host of “Woodturning Workshop” will be on hand for an additional special show beginning Saturday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Other special evenings include the launch of a new “In the Garden with Rogers County Master Gardeners,” series, a live in studio appearance and performance by Danny Cahill, the recent winner of “America’s Biggest Loser,” a 70’s British Drama night with “Life on Mars,” “New Tricks,” “MI-5,” and “Kingdom I,” a live Southern Gospel night with performances by the Sacred Call quartet, the Tulsans and the Travelers and a special Mountain Man night.

“Callers who become members will have the opportunity to receive tickets to the upcoming Jeff Beck concert in Tulsa, tickets to the Oak Ridge Boys performance in Branson, special tickets to a meet and greet and performance to Patti Pages’ upcoming visit to the Claremore PAC and finally we will be auctioning off the first in a 15 run limited edition Sandra Van Zandt bronze sculpture valued at over $2,500,” Baumgarte said.
