RSU Offering ACT Math, Science Prep Course

To help area students best prepare for college admissions exams, Rogers State University will be offering a math and science prep course focusing on the two subject areas that most often challenge students.

The ACT prep class will be offered on Saturday, October 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center on the RSU Claremore campus. The class also will be repeated on additional Saturdays throughout the fall and spring, including Nov. 23, Jan. 18, March 14, May 29 or June 26. Enrollment is open to anyone aged 15 and up, and each session costs $69. Students should bring a scientific or low-level graphic calculator for the session.

This ACT prep course is designed to better prepare students for the math and sciences sections of the ACT college admissions exam. These workshops will help students whether they are preparing to take the test for the first time or retesting to improve their scores.

Jeff Gaffen, testing specialist with RSU, will serve as the course instructor. Gaffen has more than 20 years of experience as a secondary and post-secondary math educator/tutor and has taught ACT math and science prep and SAT math prep since 1998.

Registration for the course is available at www.rsuworks.com/ACT. School discounts available for five or more registrations.
