RSU Names Caitlin Hendrex as the Counseling Services Coordinator

Rogers State University named Caitlin Hendrex as the new counseling services coordinator. Hendrex, from, Boca Raton, FL, began her duties on January 3.

“Caitlin joined the RSU counseling team as a part-time counselor early this past fall semester to support the growing need for services for RSU students. The selection committee identified Caitlyn’s proactive approach to engaging with students and bringing about positive changes to student programming. We look forward to her continuing the growth of internal and external resources and programming for our university’s student body and campus culture,” Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Robert Goltra III said.

As the counseling services coordinator, Hendrex will be responsible for providing assessment and counseling for all RSU students through individual, relational or group sessions. She will also work with faculty and staff to provide activities and programs that enhance the well-being and health of RSU’s students.

“I have always been passionate about working with young adults and past experiences working in school-based prevention, facilitating a mentoring program, and collaborating with community organizations. These experiences have given me a solid foundation to help address the needs of students today.”

Previously, Hendrex was a therapist at Rogers County Youth Services. Her goal is to increase student access to mental health services both on campus and through community resources.

“I truly see it as an honor to be a supportive guide to individuals navigating college life and working through the complexities of the human experience. I hope a student that utilizes RSU Counseling services can leave feeling, heard, respected and supported,” Hendrex said.

She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Suffolk University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma.
