Rogers State University is alerting area businesses about a scam involving a company that is using the institution’s name to solicit advertising and t-shirt sales.
The company, which uses the name Jam Sports Marketing, is not affiliated with RSU, is not an officially licensed vendor with the university, and does not have permission to solicit funds on behalf of any product bearing the university’s name or logo.
“Some area businesses have been contacted by the company in an attempt to sell them advertising and sponsorships for t-shirts,” said Wren Baker, RSU athletic director.
RSU’s name and logos are trademarked and legally protected from unauthorized use.
Any business contacted by a company claiming to represent RSU and attempting to sell advertising or solicit money for sponsorships should contact the RSU Office of Public Relations at (918) 343-7771.
