For anyone who ever started but never finished getting their college degree, Rogers State University will be bringing a week of activities to campus to help connect adult students with the university’s degree completion programs.
Reach Higher Reconnect Week includes a week of initiatives with the opportunity to meet RSU personnel about potential degree programs and financial aid, as well as getting important information about returning to college.
These activities are connected to a statewide campaign to support Oklahoma’s Reach Higher Program, designed to assist adults in completing their college degrees.
Participants can choose their “home institution” from among nine participating Oklahoma public universities, including Rogers State University.
Using a participant’s existing college credits, the program coordinator at their home institution will help them develop a degree-completion plan that will work with their schedule.
RSU’s Reach High Reconnect Week kicks off Saturday, Oct. 22 with Zoom appointments, followed by a week of Zoom and phone appointments from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Zoom or phone appointments with faculty, staff and administration will be held from 5-6 p.m. to discuss degree completion opportunities.
On Wednesday, Oct. 26, RSU representatives will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Herrington Hall Atrium. Activities for children, including coloring, bubbles for kids, and drone demonstrations will be part of the day’s activities.
To take part in the program, participants must meet the following criteria: Have at least 60 hours of college credit; have a minimum GPA of 2.0 from previous college credits; and have completed general education requirements as defined by the university the participant plans to attend.
“We’re focusing on it next week, but we want everyone to know that even if they’re unable to come in person or schedule a Zoom appointment, we’re always here to help them complete their degree,” said Ronna Hatley, MBA Program and Reach Higher coordinator.
