Philosophy Colloquia Series: Human Flourishing & The Ground of Excellence

Rogers State University will welcome Dr. Max Parish, Manager of the Institute for the Study of Human Flourishing at The University of Oklahoma, for a March 15 presentation on the Claremore campus.

Dr. Parish will be delivering a lecture entitled “Human Flourishing and the Ground of Excellence: Neo-Aristotelian Ethical Naturalism Under the Microscope,” which will deal with moral philosophy, specifically the relationship between the good life and human nature.

The presentation will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Baird Hall Performance Art Studio, Room 131.

The following day, Friday, March 16, RSU will be hosting an undergraduate philosophy conference. Students will be presenting papers on a host of issues pertaining to the good life and human flourishing. Participants include:

The first session will begin at 10:00 a.m.; the second session will begin at 12:00 p.m. In between sessions, participants will be treated to lunch. The conference will take place in Baird Hall 231.

All are welcome to attend both Thursday’s talk and Friday’s conference. There is no need to RSVP.
