After two previous successful events, Rogers State University will once again join JC Penney and surrounding institutions to offer extensive discounts on men’s and women’s professional dress clothing to local students. Suit Up will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, at the JC Penney store in Promenade Mall, 4101 S. Yale Ave. in Tulsa.
JC Penney is offering students from RSU and other participating schools an extra 40 percent discount on select dress brands like J. Ferrar, Stafford, Liz Claiborne and more. The offers are also available to RSU faculty and staff members as well as alumni.
All students, alumni, faculty, and staff who are interested in the event must bring their RSU I.D. and check in at the RSU table upon arrival.
Malinda Moore, RSU Business Administration-Accounting Senior, took advantage of the event last year and found the opportunity beneficial.
“Business attire can be expensive and as a college student with no money it is hard to have appropriate attire for interviews,” Moore said. “I am thankful that JC Penney offers such a great discount so I can afford to look my best.”
There will be a variety of dress styles and sizes including juniors for women and big and tall sizes for men. JC Penney will have additional staff members available for sizing, measurements, and questions. For those who can’t find their size in store, the 40 percent discount coupon applies for online purchases as well.
Other institutions participating in Suit Up include: Oral Roberts University, Tulsa Community College, Oklahoma State University – Tulsa and Stillwater, University of Oklahoma Tulsa, University of Tulsa, Northeastern State University, and Langston University Tulsa.
Calli Knight, Coordinator of Career Services for Rogers State University, also organizes a program at RSU called the Career Closet which enables students to pick and choose from a variety of professional dress clothing styles for free.
