Biology Major represents RSU at 2024 Research Day at the Capitol

Skiatook native Garrett Ringler (left, with Rep. Clay Staires) represented Rogers State University at the 2024 Annual Research Day at the Capitol March 19.

Ringler, an RSU senior majoring in biology with medical/molecular option, focused his research on understanding how animals sense temperature changes and maintain energy homeostasis. His presentation was titled “IRE1 Could Protect Against the Reduction of Energy Reserves Caused by Climate Change.”

Research Day at the Capitol is an annual event held in the Oklahoma State Capitol rotunda during the legislative session that recognizes exceptional undergraduate research from outstanding students across the state.
