Rogers State University student Zachary Auschwitz was recognized for his creative work from the Art Directors Club of Tulsa at the Graphex 56 Ceremony.
Auschwitz was named the recipient of the Graphex Award in the Student Division for his Drummer Matchbook self-promotion. Opening the matchbook reveals only two matches that represent drumsticks and a sentence that reads “I don’t strike lightly.”

Rogers State University student Zachary Auschwitz was recognized for his creative work from the Art Directors Club of Tulsa at the Graphex 56 Ceremony May 1.
“I was very excited to have won the award from the Art Directors Club of Tulsa’s Graphex competition,” Auschwitz said. “It means a lot to have won it as I put in much effort and time to make the matchbooks that won, making sure that they came out well and as perfect as they could be.
“The event was very fun to be at and getting to see the work of other students and many professionals in the Oklahoma area was exciting,” he said.
Tulsa native Auschwitz currently lives in Bartlesville and just completed his junior year at Rogers State University, majoring in graphic design. He is slated to graduate from RSU in the spring 2026 semester.
The Art Directors Club of Tulsa (ADCT) is a group of designers, art directors, illustrators, photographers, educators and students created in 1968 to disseminate an understanding of art and design and to educate the public.
Now in its 56th season, Graphex is an annual art and design competition that features the best work of Tulsa creatives. Guest judges from across the country critique both professional and student work. Student portfolio winners are awarded cash prizes, and their winning work was displayed and celebrated during the awards ceremony, held May 1 at Tulsa Central Library.
