Dr. Todd Jackson has been promoted to Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Accountability and Academics at Rogers State University.
Jackson had been serving as interim dean for the College of Professional Studies and will assume his new role effective July 1.
“I am excited about my new position as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Accountability and Academics,” Jackson said. “This is a critical role that interfaces with many of RSU’s academic functions as well as with accreditors and oversight bodies.
“I appreciate this opportunity to work closely with faculty, staff, and administrators from both colleges of RSU on curriculum, assessment, and other matters,” he continued. “I have extensive practical experience in business analytics and reporting, which I look forward to redeploying in the context of accountability and academics to support RSU’s administration and to promote the success and growth of RSU.”
Jackson’s promotion follows the retirement of Dr. Mary Millikin, who has served in the role since 2011.
“Dr. Mary Millikin, who has been exemplary in this position, has been providing invaluable mentoring to me over recent weeks so that I will be productive from the start,” he said. “I am very thankful for her guidance and encouragement.”
The associate vice president for academic affairs (AVPAA) provides support to the vice president for academic affairs and to the university in all academic areas with special emphasis on general education, degree programs, strategic planning, curriculum and program reviews, assessment of student learning outcomes, institutional research, accreditation serving as the accreditation liaison officer, and more.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Jackson step into this position,” said RSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Susan Willis. “His expertise in data analytics makes him highly qualified for this position. He will bring the same professionalism to this job that we have seen from his as department head and dean.”
Jackson began working at Rogers State University in August 2013, serving as a full-time faculty member from 2013 through July 2019. He then became the head of the Department of Business, continuing in that role through December 2024. He has served as interim dean of the College of Professional Studies since January 2025.
Prior to his arrival at RSU, he was an associate professor of accounting and a tenured faculty member at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, and at Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow, when he also was an associate professor of accounting and a tenured faculty member. He also spent seven years as the chief financial officer of a nonprofit organization in Florida.
