A native of Northeast Oklahoma and a longtime leader in education, Dr. Don Raleigh serves as the third president of Rogers State University. Raleigh began his tenure on June 1, 2025.
With nearly 40 years of service as an educator, Raleigh brings a wealth of experience from both public schools and higher education into his role at RSU.
Before accepting the role at RSU, Raleigh served as the Dean of the School of Education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, leading a school of nearly 18,000 residential and online students. Prior to that he served as Senior Associate Dean for Academic Operations at the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served in that capacity for two years, working with students on strengthening the culture of osteopathic learning and aligning curriculum and operations.
Raleigh spent most of his career in Oklahoma. Before moving to Liberty, he served as Superintendent of Pryor Public Schools in Pryor, Oklahoma. He led the district for 13 years during a time of unprecedented growth.
After graduation from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, he began his career in education in 1988 and has served in almost every capacity as a teacher, coach, and administrator in public schools. He holds an M.S. in curriculum and instruction and an Ed.D. in school administration, both from Oklahoma State University.
Raleigh was recently named the 2025 recipient of the Administrator of The Year Award from the Beta Phi Society of Scholars of Exeter College at The University of Oxford. He was named the 2017 Oklahoma Association of School Administrators (OASA) Oklahoma Superintendent of the Year and was also named the 2014 Oklahoma Administrator of the Year by the Oklahoma Advisory Council. He was honored as the 2006 Coca-Cola Joseph B. Whitehead Educator of Distinction
He was inducted into his university alma mater’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014 and was selected as an Outstanding Graduate in Education in 2025 by the Northwestern Alumni Association. He also was inducted into the Sequoyah High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2025.
Raleigh served as the 2019-20 President of the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators and has served on many state leadership committees.
He is married to his wife Angela and has two children, son Trent Raleigh and daughter-in-law, Carolyn (and grandsons Luke, Nicholas, and Alex), and daughter Aubrey Ballard and son-in-law Michael (and grandson Owen).
