Claremore Campus to Host Thursday Morning Training Exercise

The Rogers State University campus in Claremore will be the site for a regional emergency response training exercise on Thursday morning.

Local emergency responders will be participating in the drill, which will simulate an armed intruder in the Health Sciences building. A large number of emergency vehicles will be traveling in and around campus that morning as part of the exercise.

Access to the Health Sciences building restricted Thursday morning until approximately noon.

Other impacted areas include Health Sciences and Downs Hall, along with adjacent parking lots for the library, Health Sciences, the nature reserve and Centennial Center. Access to the Herrington Hall parking lot may be restricted during portions of the exercise.

The drill coincides with the university’s fall break to ensure the simulation would not interfere with classes or other university activities. Students and employees should avoid the area on Thursday morning, if possible.

RSU campus departments regularly work with emergency service agencies to ensure the safety of the campus community, and we appreciate the patience of the campus community during this important exercise.
