Rogers State University is pleased to provide resources and support for students who are parents furthering their education at RSU. Being a college student is challenging on its own, but the added complexity of being a parent can be a constant, uphill climb.

We hope these resources and services help make the journey a bit easier.

Something I love about RSU is the community and how helpful the professors are, especially since I am a single parent. It's such a postive experience how open and honest everyone is. Dr. Evusa is always checking on me to make sure I'm okay as a mother and a student.

Lactation Room for Nursing Mothers

LactationRoom2

Being a college student is challenging enough, but the complexity of being a parent – especially nursing mothers – can present additional difficulties. RSU has long stood in support of its students who are new mothers, whether that support comes by way of resources, support groups or a private space where nursing mothers can care for their children.

New mothers have a dedicated space to allow them to nurse and care for their children without having to leave campus. The lactation room offers students, faculty and staff who are nursing mothers the accommodations needed to pump and store breast milk, as well as comfortable seating and privacy screens, a changing table and more.

We’re always looking for ways to be supportive of all our students and the lactation room is a means by which moms can be assisted while they are working to accomplish their educational and career goals.

The lactation room is in the Health Sciences Building, Room 246B.
