Rogers State University’s Office of Student Affairs will welcome students new and old back to the Hill this August with a week of activities for the first week of the fall 2025 semester.

Welcome Week begins Monday, Aug. 18, and continues through Friday, Aug. 22, with daily events and activities to celebrate the beginning of the semester and help students have fun while getting acclimated to campus and getting to know other people outside the classroom setting.

Welcome Week kicks off with a night of Bingo on the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center lawn, offering students the chance to have fun and win prizes. Games begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18.

The RSU 25th Anniversary Cookout is slated for Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 5:30 p.m. on the DCTC patio and lawn. The event is free for community members. The evening will include food, live entertainment by Tulsa musician Western Horn, free unlimited sno-cones served in 25th anniversary commemorative cups, yard games including cornhole, ladder golf, giant Jenga and more to celebrate its 25th year as an accredited four-year university.

Following the cookout, there will be a screening of “Back to the Future” on the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center lawn, with popcorn and drinks provided. The movie starts at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.

Wednesday, Aug. 20, sees the return of Big Tent Day, an annual event at which students can enjoy free food and giveaways while meeting various RSU organizations, departments and local community partners, all under the shade of the big white tents. Big Tent Day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn of the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center.

On Thursday, Aug. 21, the fun moves off campus to downtown Claremore for the RSU Takeover at Food Truck Thursday event, with food trucks, live music and late-night shopping. This event will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with shuttles to and from the Res Life Clubhouse at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9 p.m.

Welcome Week wraps up Friday, Aug. 22, back on campus at the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center patio, with free snow cones, being served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rogers State University is the only four-year public residential university in the Tulsa metropolitan area serving northeastern Oklahoma.
