About the Program

If you’re curious about how people think, live, and work—and how communities function at large—this degree was built for you. The Bachelor of Science in Social Science at RSU is designed to give you a solid foundation in understanding human behavior, social systems, and research-based reasoning. You’ll hone your writing, presentation, and problem-solving skills in real-world settings, not just classrooms.

You’ll choose one of three unique tracks: Environmental Studies, Psychology, or Sociology. Each one offers hands-on learning through required internships—where you won’t just observe, but actively participate in the kind of work you could be doing after graduation. Past students have worked in youth services, nonprofit outreach, healthcare settings, and community development—many landing jobs from those very internships.

Degree path options

Explore your passion through three distinct paths in the Social Science program—Environmental Studies, Psychology, or Sociology. Whether you’re drawn to protecting the planet, understanding the human mind, or analyzing social systems, each option opens the door to hands-on learning, real-world internships, and a future where your curiosity becomes your career.

Sociology

Focus on human society and social behavior. This option emphasizes social systems, inequalities, and movements—ideal for those interested in public service, social research, or nonprofit leadership.

Psychology

Dive into the scientific study of the mind and behavior. You'll take courses in developmental and abnormal psychology and explore topics like social behavior and mental health.

Environmental Studies
