The Department of Education at Rogers State University prepares passionate, dedicated students to become impactful teachers and educational leaders. Whether you’re interested in early childhood, elementary, or special education, RSU offers degree paths that combine theory with hands-on classroom experience to help you thrive.

Small class sizes and dedicated faculty mean you’ll get personal attention as you learn how to plan lessons, manage classrooms, and support students of all abilities. Field experiences and student teaching opportunities begin early in the program, ensuring you’re classroom-ready by the time you graduate.

At RSU, we don’t just train teachers—we help you become a difference-maker in the lives of students. With strong partnerships across local school districts, our graduates are in demand and well-prepared to launch meaningful careers in education.

Elementary Education Degree Requirements

The CU-RSU collaborative elementary education degree program is no longer active. Students now complete all four years of their elementary education degree directly through Rogers State University (RSU). They begin by earning an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree in Elementary Education during the first two years. After completing the associate degree, students continue their studies at RSU to fulfill the remaining requirements for a bachelor’s degree. This updated pathway allows students to complete their entire elementary education program on the RSU campus in Claremore, offering a convenient and accessible option for those pursuing a teaching career.
