RSU Scholarship Auction Features 2014 Ford Mustang Raffle

One lucky winner will drive away in style from the upcoming Rogers State University Foundation Scholarship Auction.

The RSU Foundation is now selling raffle tickets through the May 15 auction for a chance to win the sporty vehicle, which was anonymously contributed by an RSU Foundation Board member and her husband.

Tickets are $100 each and only 500 tickets will be sold for a chance at winning the car, which has a $25,485 sticker price. The winning ticket will be drawn during the scholarship auction and the winner does not need to be present to win.

Tickets may be purchased at the RSU Development office on the Claremore campus or from any RSU Foundation Board member or auction committee members.

All of the proceeds from the raffle will be used to fund RSU student scholarships for area students.

“We are deeply honored by the generosity of our board member and her husband for donating the Mustang for the raffle,” said Maynard Phillips, RSU Vice President for Development. “This was a unique item that will help raise much-needed funds for student scholarships, and I can tell you from experience the Mustang will certainly turn heads when it’s seen out in public.”

The theme for this year’s auction is “Saddle Up for Scholarships” and the event will be held Thursday, May 15, on the lawn adjacent to the Centennial Center. The western-themed event will feature silent and live auctions, barbecue dinner and musical entertainment from Camille and Haley Harris. News on 6 anchor Lori Fullbright will emcee the event, and Rick Reimer will serve as the auctioneer.

This year marks the 10th anniversary for the auction, which has helped raise nearly $500,000 for unrestricted scholarships to help RSU students attend school and achieve their educational goals.

Cost for the auction and dinner is $50 per person, or $500 will reserve a table for eight.
