Mr. Meadors served as state comptroller for the state of Oklahoma from 1999 to 2001, and was manager of accounting and financial reporting for the Oklahoma Office of State Finance from 1993 to 1999.
During this time, Meadors was responsible for the state’s accounting, payroll, and financial reporting systems.
In 1996, under Meadors’ direction, the State of Oklahoma was awarded its first Certificate of Achievement in Excellence for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. In 2001, Oklahoma was the first state to successfully implement GASB Statement 34, reflecting major changes in the governmental financial reporting model.
Previously, he worked in the public accounting sector, and in corporate controllership positions in the oil & gas, restaurant, and transportation industries.
Mr. Meadors is a member of several state and national accounting and government finance organizations. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma and is a certified public accountant.
