Course Sequence for
B.S. in Social Science: PSY/SOC Emphasis
Below is a recommended course load to complete the BSSS in five semesters. This assumes all general Education requirements are met, taking 15 hours per semester, 9 hours in the summer, and an 18 hour minor (with perhaps some hours in the minor before this sequence). It is highly recommended that the research/statistics and quantitative reasoning courses be taken in the correct sequence as shown below:
- 1st semester: SBS 3013 RM I: Research Design
- 2nd semester: SBS 3063 Social & Behavioral Stats
- 3rd semester: SBS 3113 or SBS 3213 Qualitative or Quantitative Research Methods
- Last semester: SBS 4513 Capstone

This is only an example, but the sequence and mix (core courses, emphasis, and minor) is sound. Extenuating circumstances may dictate more hours per semester, no summer classes, and/or more semesters to complete requirements.
