“Dr. Taylor helps her students understand how government operates, but more than that, she challenges us to realize our potential as citizens.” – Leon Hershberger
Leon Hershberger is fascinated by how business works, and nurtures a passion for politics on the side.
His dual interests presented a dilemma when it came to selecting a college major.“I thought I had to choose one over the other,” he said. But at RSU, he was able to pursue both by taking advantage of the university’s cross-disciplinary study opportunities, majoring in business administration with a minor in political science.
He also received guidance from his mentor, Dr. Carolyn Taylor, who steered him toward the Washington Center Internship Program.
RSU is one of only three universities in Oklahoma to participate in this prestigious program, which will allow Leon to meld his interests in business and political science with a summer internship at the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C.
