Academic Scholarships

Incoming freshmen who are legal residents of Oklahoma and have financial need and/or scholastic achievement are eligible to apply. Scholarships for scholastic achievement are based on ACT scores and GPA.

Scholarship Awarding Requirements:

  • Students must be U.S. citizens
  • Students must be Oklahoma residents
  • Students must be enrolled Full-Time at Roger’s State University
  • Students must be first-time incoming Freshman
  • Students must fill out and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Students must meet all scholarship requirements to be awarded.

President's Scholarship   Academic Excellence Scholarship
  • Award amount: Up to 2,500 per year (upe ot $1,250 per semester)
  • Offered by: The president of the university
  • Eligibility:  Student must have an ACT score of 28 or 29 and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Requirements: The President’s Scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for the period of 4 years pending eligibility. After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship.
 
  • Award amount: $2,000 per year ($1,000 per semester)
  • Eligibility: Students must receive an ACT score of 26 or 27 and have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Giving to students with outstanding academic achievement and who demonstrate potential for success in college.
  • Requirements: This scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of 4 years pending eligibility.
     
Academic Merit Scholarship   General Academic Scholarship
  • Award amount: $1,500 per year ($750 per semester)
  • Eligibility: Students must have achieved a 24 or 25 on the ACT and have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship honors a student’s hard work and academic achievement in high school. 
  • Requirements: This scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of 4 years pending eligibility.
 
  • Award amount: $1,000 per year ($500 per semester)
  • Eligibility: Students must score a 22 or 23 on the ACT and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Requirements: This scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of 4 years pending eligibility.
     
Valedictorian Scholarship   Salutatorian Scholarship
  • Award amount: $2,000 per year ($1,000 per semester)
  • Eligibility: Awarded to students who have graduated Valedictorian of their class. 
  • Requirements: The Valedictorian scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years pending eligibility. After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship. 
 
  • Award amount: $1,500 per year ($750 per semester)
  • Eligibility: Awarded to students who have graduated Salutatorian of their class.
  • Requirements: The Salutatorian scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years pending eligibility.   After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship. 
     
Freshmen Departmental Scholarship   Freshman Progressive Scholarship
  • Award amount: Varies based on high school class rank
  • Eligibility: Awarded to outstanding students who have graduated in the top 20%, 10%, or 5% of their high school class. 
  • Requirements: All recipients must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Freshman Departmental scholarship is used towards tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years. After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship.
 
  • Award amount: Varies based on ACT score
  • Eligibility: Students who score a 19-21 on the ACT and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Requirements: The Freshman Progressive scholarship is used toward tuition only and is awarded for a period of two years pending eligibility. After the two year period students will be eligible to apply for another scholarship.
