RSU-TV To Air Tape-Delayed Commencement

RSU-TV will air a tape-delayed broadcasting of Rogers State University’s May 11th commencement ceremony.

The taped broadcast of the commencement ceremony will air at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 18. RSU-TV broadcasts on UHF channel 35, Claremore and Tulsa cable channel 19, and more than 70 cable systems in northeastern Oklahoma and southern Kansas.

RSU’s commencement will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at the Claremore Expo Center.

This year’s ceremony features the first group of bachelor’s degree recipients since RSU was accredited as a four-year university in August 2000. Seventeen bachelor’s degree candidates will join more than 270 associate’s degree and certificate candidates in the university’s 90th graduation ceremony.

Sen. Stratton Taylor, president pro tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate, will serve as the commencement speaker.

Station officials said the taped broadcast is a service to area residents and family members who are unable to attend the ceremony, in addition to providing a permanent record of the event.

As the only full-powered public television station licensed to a university in Oklahoma, RSU-TV provides educational, cultural and general interest programming to an audience of 1.2 million viewers in northeastern Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.
