RSU to Present Oklahoma State Candidate Forum Sept. 23

Candidates seeking the offices of Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Commissioner of Labor and State Auditor and Inspector will participate in a public forum on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Rogers State University.

The Oklahoma State Candidate Forum will be held at 7 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Centennial Center on the RSU campus in Claremore. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Moderator of the forum will be Cindy Morrison, an Emmy Award-winning television journalist.

The candidates participating in the forum will include Superintendent of Public Instruction, Susan Paddock (D), Janet Barresi (R) and Richard E. Cooper (I); Commissioner of Labor, Lloyd L. Fields (D) and Mark Costello (R); and State Auditor and Inspector, Steve Burrage (D) and Gary Jones (R).

The forum will be broadcast live on RSU Public Television, which can be seen across northeast Oklahoma, and RSU Radio, FM 91.3. Those attending will be asked to take their seats no later than 6:50 p.m. to allow for the simulcasts.

The forum will also be taped and rebroadcast at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 and at 8 p.m. on Oct. 22 on RSU Public Television.
