RSU To Exhibit Art by High School Students in Region

Art by emerging artists from high schools across northeast Oklahoma will be featured in an exhibition Feb. 20 through March 7 at Rogers State University.

The High School Portfolio Art Exhibition will be held at Foundations Gallery, located in Baird Hall on the RSU campus in Claremore.

Faculty members in the RSU Department of Communication and Fine Arts will select the recipients of several awards that are accompanied by scholarships to attend RSU in the fall. The award recipients will be announced at an opening reception for the exhibition from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the gallery.

The exhibition will include drawings, paintings, ceramics and multimedia pieces. High schools represented in the exhibition include Adair, Broken Arrow, Edison (Tulsa), Owasso, Skiatook and Sperry, Okla.

RSU offers a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts as well as associate’s degrees in art and liberal arts with several options.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
