Student Max West and RSU recruiter Megan Parks go over plans for RSU’s Enrollment/Orientation Days, which are scheduled throughout this spring and summer.

To help incoming students successfully start their college career, Rogers State University is hosting a series of Enrollment/Orientation Days starting on April 16.

During these enrollment and orientation sessions, new students will enroll, meet faculty and staff, and participate in activities designed to give them a strong foothold as they begin college.

Activities and information for parents also will be shared during the event.

RSU’s Enrollment/Orientation Days are organized around the student’s intended academic area of interest:

  • School of Business and Technology will be held on Thursday, April 16 and Tuesday, June 23.
  • School of Math, Science & Health Sciences will be held on Thursday, April 23 and Tuesday, June 30.
  • School of Liberal Arts will be held Thursday, April 30 and Tuesday, July 7.
  • Students from all majors or those who are undecided can participate on Thursday, May 7 and Tuesday, July 14.

Each session will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a free lunch for participants is included. The sessions will be held on the Claremore campus.

In addition to meeting faculty and staff, students will interact with current RSU students about tips for college success and getting ready for the start of classes.

Parents will learn about paying for college (financial aid, scholarships and more), what to expect as a parent, campus safety and resources that benefit their students.

Joy Lin Hall, RSU director of admissions, said the Enrollment/Orientation Days are organized to help get new students ready for the RSU college experience and prepare them for college success.

“Studies show that students who participate in orientation events have a much better track record for excelling in school and graduating on time,” Hall said. “We’ve designed Enrollment/Orientation Days to help new students get a strong start to college and prepare them for life as a Hillcat.”

Registration is required for Enrollment/Orientation Days, which are free for incoming students and their family. To register:

  • Pick the session that best suits the student’s schedule and interests
  • Complete the registration form

Students who are unable to attend these dates can participate in walk-in enrollments any time during business hours at the Markham Hall Enrollment Center in Claremore, RSU Bartlesville (401 S. Dewey Ave.) or RSU Pryor at MidAmerica Industrial Park (2155 Highway 69A).
