Five members of the Student Broadcasting Association at Rogers State University spent a day learning about the television and film industry at OETA-TV’s annual Student Day in Oklahoma City on Oct. 14.

The event is hosted each fall by OETA and the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association, an association of broadcast educators and professionals. The event includes the awarding of the annual William “Bill” Thrash and Gene Dillehay scholarships. A total of 66 students from 11 Oklahoma schools attended this year’s event.

The day-long event allowed students to attend educational sessions and take a tour of the OETA studio. Sessions included learning about multi-platform story telling in news and sports, examining student-made radio and television projects, and hearing from Oklahoma film festival directors.
