RSU Radio Seeks Guests for Morning Programs

RSU Radio is seeking guests from the Rogers State University campus and area communities to discuss upcoming events and other information of interest to listeners of its morning programs.

The station would like to invite guests to discuss public events and activities of community organizations for its morning program “Misti in the Morning,” which airs from 7-9 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The guest appearances are part of an initiative at RSU Radio to expand its programming to include more news and information about local events.

Upcoming guests will include Dr. Scout Cloud Lee, who appeared on the CBS television program “Survivor,” Ron Bradley, RSU physical education director, who will discuss the upcoming RSU aseball club season, and Dell Davis, director of the Claremore Chamber of Commerce, who will provide information about the Claremore Home and Garden Show and Taste of Home Cooking School.

RSU Radio is the only alternative college radio station in Oklahoma, and broadcasts live daily from the RSU campus in Claremore. The station reaches listeners across northeast Oklahoma at FM 91.3 and around the world on the web at www.rsuradio.com.

“The radio station is a training ground and learning laboratory for students enrolled in RSU communication programs and presents a unique mix of programming for area residents” said Cathy Coomer, RSU instructor and general manager of the radio station.

The station plays an eclectic mix of music, much of which cannot be heard anywhere else in the state, including local music, pop alternative, Celtic music, traditional Native American music, classic country, “rockabilly,” hip hop, jazz, blues and more. Most of the original programming is developed, produced and hosted by RSU students. In addition, RSU faculty members and members of the community host programs on the station.
