RSU Holiday Art Sale to Help Students Study Abroad

If you’re looking for a unique gift for that special someone, check out the Rogers State University Holiday Art Sale. It will be held Nov. 3 through Dec. 2 in the Foundations Gallery of Baird Hall, on the RSU campus in Claremore.

Profits from the art sale, 30 to 100 percent depending on the artist’s wishes, will assist RSU art students to study abroad in Montone, Italy.

This year there also will be a scholarship competition for those artists who have applied for the summer study abroad trip in Italy. Partial scholarships toward the 2012 Italy course will be awarded to the top winners.

Each summer, RSU offers the four-week summer art program in Montone, a small town in the Umbrian region of Italy. The students create and exhibit their art while in Montone, and travel in Italy during their stay.

“This is a great way for shoppers to find inexpensive and completely original gifts, and support the education of RSU students at the same time,” Moeller said.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, to accommodate evening shoppers.
