RSU Announces Significant Fall Enrollment Increases

Enrollment increased in key categories this fall at Rogers State University, including a seven percent headcount increase on the Claremore campus and an overall 3.8 percent full-time equivalency enrollment increase – one of the largest among all colleges and universities in Oklahoma.

The number of students enrolled at RSU’s main campus in Claremore increased to 2,491 this fall, compared to 2,327 students last fall.

In addition, the increase in full-time equivalency (FTE) enrollment at RSU, or the number of student credit hours, was the largest among Oklahoma’s regional universities, the largest in the state among all universities, and the third largest in the state among all public colleges and universities, including two-year colleges. This fall, the state’s regional universities experienced a 1.2 percent enrollment decline.

“An increase in the enrollment of full-time students signals the status and strength of RSU as one of the state’s leading regional universities,” said RSU President Dr. Joe Wiley.

Overall headcount enrollment on all three campuses was down less than half a percentage point. This fall, a total of 4,014 students are enrolled at RSU, compared to 4,039 last year. “Much of this slight enrollment decrease is due to fewer part-time students enrolling at the university,” Wiley said.

Enrollment in the university’s virtual campus – the RSU Online program – is up 3.3 percent, with 1,444 students taking classes on line this fall compared to 1,398 last fall.

On-site enrollment at the RSU campus in Bartlesville increased by 8.5 percent, while the number of Bartlesville residents taking classes online decreased, for an overall enrollment increase of 1.8 percent. This fall, 760 students are enrolled at the Bartlesville campus, compared to 747 last year.
Enrollment at the RSU campus in Pryor experienced a slight 1.4 percent drop, with 348 students enrolled this fall.
