OKLAHOMA MILITARY ACADEMY
OMA Reunion
Adjutant
Maj. Gen Timothy P. Malishenko, ‘62
Maj. Gen. Timothy Malishenko will assume leadership duties as adjutant for the 2012 Oklahoma Military Academy Reunion, to be held Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9, on The Hill in Claremore. This will be his first year to serve as the Reunion adjutant - an honor he gladly embraces.
An Oklahoma native, Malishenko knew he was going to be involved in the military at a young age. His father was in the Air Force so it was very familiar to him and considering it was a family tradition, it was the only choice he had. Even though his father was in the Air Force and provided that linkage to the military, Malishenko cites that his career in the military began at OMA and brought him to where he is today.
Graduating with a bachelor of science degree in 1969 from Ohio State University Training Corps Program, Malishenko went on to get two master’s degrees and attended several military academies enriching his foundation of science and business education. He has served in a broad range of acquisition related positions including contract management, and space, aeronautical, international and electronic systems.
The lessons that Malishenko learned at OMA gave him a foundation and a focus which has been instrumental in his personal and professional success. The standards that the academy impressed upon him in the very beginning of his life holds him in good stead even today.
Malishenko was inducted into the OMA Hall of Fame in 1997 and currently serves on the Board of Directors. |
