Governor's Executive Order Prohibits Campus Use of E-Cigarette, Vaping Devices

The use of electronic cigarette or vapor devices on Rogers State University property is prohibited beginning Jan. 29.

The measure, approved Wednesday by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents that governs RSU, keeps the university in harmony with Gov. Mary Fallin's executive order last month that prohibits use of e-cigarette and vaping devices on state property.

The regents approved a modification of RSU's tobacco policy to prohibit use of electronic cigarettes and vaping devices throughout all indoor and outdoor areas of buildings owned, leased, or operated by the university, including RSU housing/apartments, athletic facilities, in any vehicle owned or leased by the University or anywhere on the RSU grounds. The ban applies to all persons on campus, including students, faculty, staff, contracted personnel, vendors and all visitors. It also prohibits the sale of such items on university property.
