RSU Public Television to Start ‘Silent' Membership Drive on April 25

In a bold move away from the more traditional spring membership drives of the past, RSU Public Television will be holding a "silent" membership drive that focuses regularly scheduled programs.

To support the station's efforts, ConocoPhillips and the Rogers State University Foundation have teamed up to provide RSU Public Television with a $25,000 challenge grant. Through the grant, every dollar donated to RSU Public Television will be matched up to a total of $25,000.

The silent membership drive will run from Wednesday, April 25, 2012 to Sunday, May 6, 2012. All proceeds will go directly into the station's programming.

Dan Schiedel, general manager for RSU Public TV, said the silent membership drive was intended to provide viewers with a seamless viewing experience.

"We want to make sure that each regular viewer gets the opportunity to see their programs when they are normally expected to run," he said. This is the first year the station has undertaken a silent membership drive.

A few special pledge programs will be aired during the drive, such as the popular "Celtic Thunder Voyage" and "Adele," airing on Sunday evening, April 29, 2012.

Donations to RSU Public Television are tax deductible and can be made online at or by phone at 800-823-7210.

The station's staff is always pleased to have the opportunity to visit with viewers who come to the station to deliver their donation in person at RSU Public Television, Rogers State University (Markham Hall), 1701 W. Will Rogers Blvd, Claremore, Oklahoma 74017.
