RSU Choir to Present Spring Concert April 26

The Rogers State University Choir will present its annual spring concert on Tuesday, April 26.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the performance studio in Baird Hall on the RSU campus in Claremore.

The title of the concert will be "Springs Passion" and will feature a variety of music, from the compositions of J. S. Bach to the creative works of contemporary composer and arranger John Jacob Niles.

The concert will feature "If Ye Love Me" and "Weep, O Mine Eyes," works by Renaissance composers.

The choir also will present "Harvester's Song," one of six Renaissance poems set to music by German-born American composer Jean Berger in 1951, collectively known as the "Six Madrigals." In addition, the concert will include "Go ‘Way from My Window," one of many folk compositions by Niles.

"As has become our tradition, the concert will also include a performance of our signature piece, ‘Festival Sanctus,'" said Nancy Gill, RSU Choir director.

Since seating in the performance studio is limited, reservations are encouraged by contacting Gill at 918-343-7957 or ngill@rsu.edu. Please leave a message including your name, the number of people in your party and a number or email address where you can be reached for confirmation of your reservation.
