RSU Online Business Degree Ranked among Nation's Top 10 Best Buys
Rogers State University's online bachelor degree in organizational leadership has been ranked among the Top 10 Most Affordable Online Bachelor's Degrees in the nation by GetEducated.com.
RSU offers four bachelor degrees completely via the Internet through the RSU Online program, including organizational leadership and business information technology, with options in software development and multimedia and computer network administration.
RSU Online also offers bachelor degrees in liberal arts and applied technology and associate degrees in applied technology, business administration, liberal arts and computer science.
"RSU has been steadfastly committed to controlling the cost of tuition and fees for students who study on campus and online," said RSU President Dr. Larry Rice. "So it comes as no surprise that RSU's online degrees are among the most affordable in the nation."
The RSU Online program routinely attracts students who live in northeast Oklahoma, across the state and nationwide, and has shown performance as one of the fastest-growing segments of the RSU student body over the last decade, Rice added.
GetEducated.com is a consumer group in Essex Junction, Vt., that rates and ranks online colleges for cost and credibility. The organization recently released the results of its nationwide survey of college affordability for regionally accredited online bachelor degrees in business and management.
To develop the rankings, GetEducated.com surveyed 83 regionally-accredited colleges, which offered a total of 391 online bachelor degrees related to a business or management major. The nationwide survey revealed that online students pay as little as $11,880 or as much as $103,500 for an online bachelor degree in business.
RSU's online bachelor degrees in business cost approximately $23,659 for Oklahoma residents and $46,215 for out-of-state students.
According to Vicky Philips, GetEducated's founder, which began rating online colleges 20 years ago, online students should compare cost and other benefits carefully before enrolling in online education.
"Almost 70 percent of residential colleges now offer their most popular degrees online. Many of the best values come from public universities with long established histories offering college degrees on campus. Costs are lower at most public, non-profit universities that offer online degrees because tax dollars already significantly subsidize their operation," Philips said.
"RSU's online campus is a gem of affordability for Oklahoma residents in these tough economic times. As a public, non-profit institution, RSU Online should be recognized for its efforts to deliver affordable higher education that is also accessible," she added.
The average cost nationwide for a regionally-accredited, online business bachelor's degree is $43,241, according to GetEducated.com.
"The RSU Online degree program costs almost $20,000 less than the national average for an online business degree," said Phillips. "That's an amazing cost savings."
By comparison, the nation's largest for-profit online business school, the University of Phoenix Online, charges over $64,000 for its bachelor of science in business administration. Drexel University in New York topped the price chart as the most expensive online business degree at $103,500 for its bachelor degree in general studies/business.
