
NEWSJanuary 19, 2009 RSU Makes a Difference during MLK Day of Service
Volunteer projects benefited Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the RSU Child Development Center and the Claremore Veterans Center. At the Veterans Center volunteers served lunch and played games with patients. RSU staff member Corinice Wilson even took some time to dance with patient Benito Farfalla (photos below). More photos from MLK events. “Participating in community service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an annual tradition at RSU,” said B.J. Armstrong, director of RSU student activities. Events during the day-long celebration included an opening ceremony featuring a dance performance by youth from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a showing of the film “In Remembrance of Martin,” followed by a discussion moderated by several RSU professors.
